Privacy is the product here, so this policy is short and literal.
Aether runs on your hardware. As of 5 September 2026 every edition installs on a machine you own — your own computer, your own cloud account, or the Executive appliance. That changes this policy more than any wording could: for the things people most want a privacy policy to cover, we are not a party. Your conversations, memory, documents, health record and model ledger are files on your disk. We never receive them.
To issue your licence, send the download, process your payment, ship your appliance if you bought one, support you, and — from the visit statistics above, in aggregate — see how people find and use this website. That is the complete list. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your content to train AI models — ours or anyone's. In the case of your instance content, we could not if we wanted to: we do not have it.
On your machine. Aether stores memory, conversations, documents, the health record and the model ledger in its own folder on the disk you installed it on. You set the password on first run and it is never transmitted. There is no account of yours on our servers, no tenant, and no copy — which means there is nothing of yours to expose in a breach of ours, and nothing for us to hand over if we were compelled to. Deleting your data is deleting the folder, and it is complete when you do it because there is nowhere else it was.
If you choose to deploy Aether into your own cloud account, the same holds: the account, the machine and the data are yours, and we hold no credentials for it.
Your instance sends conversation context to the model you configure for it, and nowhere else. We ship no inference. If you connect a hosted API, that traffic goes under your own key, your own account and that provider's terms — not ours; we take no margin and hold no agreement covering your usage. If you run open weights on your own hardware — which is how the Executive appliance ships, with its models already on the disk — the context does not leave the machine at all.
We retain almost nothing, because almost nothing reaches us. What we hold is the commercial record: your email, your licence and its term, your order, and a shipping address if you bought an appliance. We keep that while your licence is current and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting rules require.
Your instance content is not part of that, because we never had it. There is no archive to expire, no backup of your memory, and no window in which we hold your conversations. If your licence lapses, your build keeps running on your machine with all of it intact — a lapsed licence stops new downloads we would email you, not your access to your own files.
If you ask us to delete your commercial record, we delete it — the order rows, the licence record, the email, and every backup of ours that still contains them, repacked rather than left to age out. Email admin@aetherawareness.com and say so.
This marketing site sets two Google Analytics cookies, _ga and
_ga_WYZHFETG8B. They hold a random identifier so a returning visitor is not
counted twice, and they last up to two years unless you clear them. They carry no name or
email, and blocking them changes nothing about how the site works. The site also remembers
your light/dark choice in your own browser's storage; that never leaves your machine.
Your instance, on your own machine, sets one strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in — HttpOnly, same-site and signed, and it never leaves your browser. The product has no tracking cookie and no analytics of any kind.
